Performance Evidence

Evidence is required to be collected that demonstrates a candidate’s competency in this unit. Evidence must be relevant to the roles within this sector’s work operations and satisfy all of the requirements of the performance criteria of this unit and include evidence that the candidate:

locates and applies relevant documentation, policies and procedures

works effectively with others to undertake and complete conveyor system shifts that meets all of the required outcomes including:

using a range of communications techniques and equipment to convey information to others

maintaining written and verbal reporting requirements and procedures

communicating to confirm work requirements

demonstrates completion of conveyor system shifts coordination that safely, effectively and efficiently meets all of the required outcomes on more than one (1) occasion including:

conducting prestart, shutdown and secure of equipment

developing detailed conveyor shift plans

coordinating conveyor shift relocation activity

monitoring conveyor shift activity

completing conveyor system relocation

testing conveyor after relocations

returning the conveyor to service


Knowledge Evidence

The candidate must demonstrate knowledge in coordinating conveyor system shift through:

equipment characteristics, technical capabilities and limitations

conveyor systems and relocation coordination requirements

site and equipment safety requirements and procedures

site environmental, ground conditions and constraints

manufacturer’s manuals, requirements and procedures

organising and prioritizing work tasks

prepared for fire/accident/emergency

mine site geological conditions and survey data

accessing, interpreting and applying technical information

working within a diverse team
